From the Tumuaki’s Table – Term 4, Week 6, 2023

November 13, 2023

Wow – the Friends of the School Colour Run was a great success last Friday! There were a huge number of parents and whānau joining in the fun. Thanks to those of you who donated to the fundraiser and to the sponsors who manned the colour stations! A massive thank you to the Friends of the School and to Zelda who was the mastermind behind the operation.

35 of our seniors took part in the local Athletics Zone Competition. They showed courage as they tried their best in their events. Congratulations to the 5 students who made it through to the Canterbury Championships

This year we have 6 finalists in DigiAwards. This is a competition that empowers primary and intermediate ākonga (students) from throughout Waitaha (Canterbury) to design, develop, and showcase their digital projects. Good luck team!

Teachers are busily finalising assessment data, making Overall Teacher Judgments (OTJ’s) and writing their children’s end-of-year reports. We are seeing great progress in Literacy across the kura (school).

On Tuesday 5 December, the children will spend two hours with their 2024 Whānau Teachers. We welcome the new staff and students to school as they make connections to help support a positive start in 2024.

I am looking forward to our Kapahaka performance group who will be competing at the Te Hono Festival at the end of November. They look amazing in their new uniforms!

Enjoy the warmer weather as summer kicks in!
