This week we were very excited to learn that one of our Robocup teams had placed first equal – with our other team!

Earlier this year our senior students looked at creating self-driving vehicles in robotics. Following on from this, two teams of students created videos and entered their self-driving car prototypes in the national online Robocup competition.

The self-driving vehicle challenge was one of five online categories in the competition. It required students to design, build and code a car that would operate independently. The cars needed to drive independently and safely around a city block, manoeuvre and avoid obstacles, and park at their destination. Extra points were given for design and comfort features.

The students worked very hard on the design, code and presentation of their cars.  We are very proud of what they have accomplished. Congratulations Jamie, Robbie, Kewene, Emma, Greta, James, Charlotte and Amelia!
