Dear parents and caregivers,
As you know COVID-19 cases are starting to rise significantly across the country. Canterbury now has community cases that are starting to rise.
To ensure we do our very best to keep our children safe we are moving to Phase 2 of our safety protocols. To support families we have staged this approach.
As of Thursday 17 February parents will no longer be allowed onto the school grounds. Children will access the school via the gate closest to the building of their youngest sibling. There are 3 entry points to help spread congestion. Staff will greet children at the start of each day and help connect them with parents at the end of the day.
As of Monday 21 February, the school will be broken into 3 separate mini schools each operating independently of the other. Staff and children will have their own areas for break times. This will help minimise any spread of illness so we can continue to operate with minimum disruption.
Please read the attached protocols for more information. As the Ministry of Education and Health work together I will keep you updated on the new isolation protocols that are due to change.
Once again I thank all our families for supporting the school through these very challenging times.
I am so grateful to lead this amazing community.
Kia Kaha!
