Welcome back to the new school year to all our whānau. We are well on track and will be ready for all the children when they visit soon!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with friends and whānau. As usual the school holidays flew by and Santa is all but a distant memory. The weather remains amazing as all the staff return to work this week to begin the final stages of preparation for welcoming you all to your new school.

Counting the March enrolments, the school will start with 90 students. Our class ratios are amazing – about 12 children in each whānau class. What a fantastic way to start a new school! The children will have so much space to do some quality learning. We have some beautiful new furniture in the spaces – we can not wait for you to see it during our open sessions next week.

The staff numbers have expanded yet again. We welcome Jenny Growcott to the team. Jenny will be working 1 hour per day in the junior school as our reading recovery teacher. We also welcome Jyoti Bhana, our permanent teacher aide. Jyoti will be working with us for 20 hours per week. Two itinerant teachers will start during term 1 – Cat Wall the drummer and Ewen Glasgow the guitar/ukulele teacher.

Your children will receive a letter in the mail this week from their Whānau Teacher. Teachers will also send parents an email confirming the details of this letter. This will include a reminder of where and how to order stationery.

Our excitement builds as we await the arrival of our foundation students and you, their families.  It will really bring the place alive!

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at anytime- the phone lines are open! See you all soon.
