Kia ora Whānau,
As we wind down for the term break we can see that everyone is tired. We have done so well to maintain classroom programmes through illness and absence of both children and staff. I commend the teaching team and teacher aides for how they managed to support each other so well when some of their colleagues were away. I thank parents for your continued vigilance and support in looking after your children when they needed it – it kept us all safe. Current COVID cases have remained very low.
Congratulations to Whaea Eilish who featured on Shortland Street this week. We wish her all the best as she re-enters her acting career!
I enjoyed the Top Talent 2.0 show as the children displayed their creativity and courage with such a wide range of talents! I have absolutely loved having parents back on-site and being able to be involved around the school (albeit slowly!).
Please note that the school site will be closed on Monday 11 July for Southbase Builders to set up the hoarding (fences) for the Stage 2 Project.
I will be away for Term 3 on my sabbatical where I will be undergoing some study and refreshment leave. I am looking forward to a change of pace after 5 years of establishing Knights Stream School. It has been an honor and a privilege to lead our school and community. The very capable Anna Ashby will be taking over the reigns – please make sure you look after her!
Have a well deserved break.
See you all in Term 4 when the sun returns!
